The dark fantasy anime “Jujutsu Kaisen” is about high-schoolers with special abilities who fight curses. It is massively popular worldwide and in EF Academy Pasadena. As “Jujutsu Kaisen” Season 3 reaches episode eight, many EF students say the new season feels darker, more complex, and more intense than before. While some enjoy the deeper story telling, others feel the pacing of the story is slower because of many new rules in the new arc.
Season 3 introduces the Culling Game. It’s a dangerous system where players must survive and earn points by killing others, so the stakes are high. The arc added many new characters and abilities, but it also brings more explanations and strategy into the story.

Some students think the rules make the story more intense. “The rules make the story more complex and intense,” said Leo Li. However, he also feels the pacing is a bit slow. “Sometimes I just want to see more fighting.”
Other students believe the new story makes the world of the anime feel bigger. Gordon Wu said the new arc adds many interesting characters and abilities. “The story is complicated, but the new characters make it more interesting,” he said.
Students also noticed that the tone of the anime has changed. Compared with earlier seasons, the story now feels more serious and less like a highschool-setting anime. “It feels less like a school story and more like a survival game,” said Chi Ling Chen.
The animation quality continues to impress viewers. Many students said the fight scenes are still exciting and visually strong. Wu pointed out Maki Zenin’s battle as one of the most memorable moments so far.
Even though opinions about pacing and complexity are different, most students agree that the anime remains exciting. Teresa described the season simply: “This season feels darker, more intense, and more complicated.”
As the Culling Game continues, fans are waiting to see how the story will develop and the battle between characters will continue.
