On April 23rd, EF Academy held its first-ever talent show, EF’s Got Talent. This was a monumental occasion in our school’s history, as never before have students across various grade levels been given the chance to take to the stage and showcase their talents. Singers, dancers, magicians, and never-before-attempted endeavors filled the audience in Robinson with awe.
One of the most anticipated acts was the Cheer Team’s first ever full routine. This dedicated group of students has been working since January to perfect their stunts, jumps, tumbling, and cheer choreography. “If it hits, it’ll be amazing,” said cheer advisor Ms. Kennedy. And it did! Cheer Team participants were Ambre, Andrea, Batel, Bridget, Emma, Eunus, Julie, Malte, Maria, Marie, Melina.
Other than the Cheer Team, there were six solo performances, which means that eighteen people performed in all.
Luke, an 11th grader, accompanied one of the solos on piano and added an additional quality to his impeccable and powerful performance.

There was also Nurse Andrea who was a vocal solo performer. The crowd had a roaring in response.

Then there was Addie, a 9th grader, on the vocal solo who performed amazingly.

There were also dance solo performances. Nurse Christianna performed a Hawaiian dance in full hula skirt and leis, which made the audience truly enjoy the experience.

Sally, a 10th grader, played guitar as well for a fantastic performance.

Finally, Mr. Emeir and Bilguun, an 11th grader, performed a magic act that had guests guessing and entertained to no end.
Those who won EF Got Talent received a basket filled with EF merchandise and gift cards. According to Ms. Kaitlyn, the basket was valued at over $100, including an EF sweatshirt, an all new EF String backpack, a water bottle, gift cards for Starbucks, McDonald’s and Crazy Creams, a local ice cream shop.
Ms. Kaitlyn, Mr. Duque, and Ms. Gabby judged the performances for creativity, engagement with the audience, stage presence, and overall talent. There were also three to four guest performers who do not attend the school, which added even more variety to the roster.
The final prize basket was given to the Cheer Team for their first full routine, so all their efforts paid off!
From performing on stage to being in the audience supporting their peers, EF students came together to showcase their talents, hard work, and pride in their school. It was a successful night that once again shows that EF students know how to have a good time when they’re in their element.
