As the school year comes to a close, students are preparing for one of the most anticipated events of the year: the Showcase of Learning on May 23rd. This special event celebrates student growth, curiosity, and creativity by allowing students to present a final project based on a subject that they are passionate about.
Held annually, the Showcase of Learning empowers students to choose their own topics, set personal goals, and share their learning journeys with the entire school community. Projects span across a wide range of subjects, from science and literature to art, business, and technology, offering a window into each student’s unique interests and imagination.
For many, the showcase is more than just an assignment. It serves as a moment of reflection, marking how far they’ve come both academically and personally.
Adrian, a 12th grader, shared his thoughts on the experience last year: “The symposium was a great opportunity for me to show off the hard work I put in last year. I enjoyed showing my peers and staffulty some of my favorite projects.”
Another student, Serge, an 11th grader, is approaching the event with a more research-oriented lens. “I see the academic Showcase as a structured opportunity to present the outcome of sustained research and academic effort. It’s not just about the final product, but about demonstrating a clear line of inquiry and the ability to communicate that work in a professional context.”
Serge will be presenting a project on space-based solar power, analyzing how orbital energy systems could contribute to SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy.“The project focuses on technical feasibility, cost modeling, and global policy implications,” he explains. “I think it fits the format well, and I appreciate the chance to present something forward-looking in a serious academic setting.”
