Every year, the Super Bowl is not just an American football game but a global spectacle that captivates millions of people. At EF Academy, the excitement for this event was no different: students from various nationalities gathered to watch the game, share their passion for sports, and immerse themselves in American culture.
EF Academy is an international school with students from all over the world, yet the Super Bowl manages to unite everyone in an evening of sports and entertainment. Some students shared their experiences with American football and how their passion for the sport was born.
Jack, a 10th-grade student who has played football since he was young, shared his deep connection to the game: “I’ve always had a passion for football and have played it my whole life. Watching the Super Bowl is a tradition for me.”
On the other hand, Sofia, a 12th grader, follows the Super Bowl for a completely different reason: “I don’t really care about the game itself, but I love watching it for the celebrities, the halftime show, and the commercials!”
Minh, a 12th grader, however, expressed his disinterest in the event: “I’ve never really been interested in the Super Bowl. It just doesn’t appeal to me.”
Aki, a 12th grader originally from Japan, shared how his perspective changed after coming to the U.S.: “Since arriving in America, I’ve really grown to love football. The excitement and energy around the Super Bowl are contagious!”
At EF Academy, the Super Bowl was an opportunity for students to come together, share their passions, and learn something new about American culture. The school even organized a collective viewing of the event, complete with snacks and a crazy atmosphere.
Even though some students had never watched a football game before, the Super Bowl created a sense of community and belonging. Whether it was cheering for a team, discussing the plays, or simply enjoying the fun, the event left a lasting impression on our school’s students.
As the final whistle blew and the confetti rained down on the Philadelphia Eagles, the Super Bowl once again proved its ability to bring people together. For some, it was a night of intense passion for the sport. For others, a moment to enjoy the spectacle and entertainment. No matter the reason for watching, the Super Bowl fostered a shared experience that transcended cultures and backgrounds, making it more than just a game, it was a celebration of connection, excitement, and community.
